My name is Liann Snow, I am an English lesbian living and writing in London. I write songs, poetry and short and long stories. I try to make my stories interesting, amusing and true - and relevant to broad minded people of all sexualities and every gender.
My short stories first found a place in Sheba’s groundbreaking Serious Pleasure anthologies (which some of you might own - let me know if you do) and some have appeared in UK magazines and in the online literary magazines Riverbabble, and Doorknobs and Bodypaint. My story collection, Moon Madness and Other Stories, and my first novel, Faith In Love (a humourous romance about inner London life and loves) are now electronic books published by Artemis Press; while a small collection of my love poetry featured in an e-magazine privately circulated in the American mid-west. This happened some time ago, but I am pleased to remember it, because I know that the readers of that e-magazine were homemakers and others who were not out as gay women; nevertheless they enjoyed and valued reading about lesbian love.
Most recently I published a paperback book of 22 poems about an intense love affair I had with a very wonderful woman. The book is called A Summer of Love and you can find it on Amazon and here. I also submitted my latest novel Trick or Treat to the Amazon Breakthrough Novel contest 2009 and a short story called True Blonde to the Bridport Prize. I am pretty sure I won't get anywhere with the latter, because it is quite a middle of the road competition and I am not an especially middle of the road writer. However it does have Ali Smith as a judge, so I thought it might be worth a try. If you wish to enter the competition too, there is still time. It doesn't close until June and you can enter here.
